Some of
the most frequently asked questions are provided for your convenience:
To
what degree can our caregivers assist with medications?
Our caregivers will remind you when it is time to take your medication.
They are NOT allowed to administer medications. In addition, our
caregivers are NOT allowed to fill your pill caddy. We recommend
you identify a responsible person to keep your pill caddy filled.
Are
your caregivers insured and bonded?
Yes. All our caregivers are insured and bonded for your safety and
protection.
Do
you provide training for your caregivers?
Yes. Training and education is critical to retaining the most qualified
caregiver. We have a strong commitment to our caregivers, evidenced
through our orientation program, staff development efforts using
a variety of training methods to provide both formal and active
learning experiences, in-service training and provision of resources.
May
I choose the caregivers?
During the initial assessment, simply inform the Client Services
Supervisor regarding your caregiver preference, and we will match
your needs with the available caregiver. Millennia Personal Care
Services provides caregivers that speak primarily English and Japanese.
We also have caregivers that speak Chinese, Korean and Spanish on
a limited basis.
How
soon can you send a caregiver to my home?
Please provide us with at least
1 week after the initial assessment or interview to select an appropriate
staff to meet your needs.
What
is the cost of service on holidays?
All holidays are billed at time and one-half
the normal rate. The holidays observed are: New Year's Day, Martin
Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence
Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Who
do I pay for the service?
You pay Millennia
Personal Care Services. Millennia Personal Care Services is the
employer, hence responsible for tax withholdings, worker's compensation
insurance, unemployment insurance and social security.
How
will I be billed?
Invoices will
be issued bi-weekly on the 5th and 20th of each month.
How
do I change my schedule?
Do not schedule directly with the caregivers.
To ensure that our caregivers are there when you need them, all
schedules must be established through the Millennia Personal Care
Services office.
Does
Medicare cover this service?
No. Unfortunately
Medicare does not cover in-home, nonmedical senior care. Our service
is paid privately or by Long Term Care Insurance.
